About Powder Coating

Powder coating is an advanced method of applying a decorative and protective finish to a wide range of materials and products that are used by both industries and consumers.

Our company uses electrostatic spraying, an electrical charge is applied to the dry powder particles while the component to be painted is electrically grounded. The charged powder and the grounded workpiece create an electrostatic field that pulls the paint particles to the workpiece.

The coating deposited on the work piece retains its charge, which holds the powder to the workpiece. The coated workpiece is placed in a curing oven.

To obtain the final solid, tough abrasion resistant coating the powder coated items are heated to temperatures that range from 250 to 450 degrees Fahrenheit (depending on the powder). During the curing process the paint particles are melted onto the surface and the charge is dissipated.

Powder coating produces a high specification coating which is relatively hard, abrasion resistant and tough.The choice of colors is virtually limitless with high and low gloss, metallic and clear finishes. Colors stay bright and vibrant longer.

Once powder coated, maintenance is a simple matter. The coating may be washed down with soapy water and rinsed with clean water.
